IHG and Emirates Skywards Offer Double Miles on Eligible Stays Through January 31, 2027

The value of this IHG offer depends on what a traveler gives up to earn airline miles: members who take part earn Emirates Skywards miles instead of IHG One Rewards points on their qualifying stays. The bonus doubles the usual mileage rate, but travelers should compare that return with the IHG points and other offers they could earn before switching their account preference.

Eligible Emirates Skywards members can earn double miles on qualifying stays at participating IHG Hotels & Resorts worldwide from October 29, 2026, through 11:59 p.m. GST on January 31, 2027. Registration is required by 11:59 p.m. GST on November 30, 2026. Members can register for the offer through IHG.

How the mileage rates work

At most participating IHG hotels, the usual earning rate is 2 Emirates Skywards miles per eligible U.S. dollar spent. Under this offer, the total rises to 4 miles per U.S. dollar: 2 base miles plus 2 bonus miles. Candlewood Suites and Staybridge Suites have a lower standard rate of 1 mile per dollar, which becomes 2 miles per dollar with the offer.

The doubled rate applies to eligible room rates and other eligible charges attributed to qualifying room nights. For example, a $100 eligible room rate at a hotel earning 2 base miles per dollar would produce 200 base miles and 200 bonus miles, for 400 miles altogether. The bonus is calculated against the standard mileage earning rate; it does not mean members earn both IHG points and Skywards miles for the same stay.

To receive miles, a member must have an IHG One Rewards account and set Emirates Skywards as the account’s earning preference before check-in. Members also need to register for this specific offer. The account preference and registration are separate requirements, so completing one does not satisfy the other.

Which stays qualify

The offer requires a stay of at least one night booked directly through ihg.com at an eligible rate. Reward nights and Points & Cash bookings are excluded, as are reservations made through online travel agencies or other booking sites. Only participating hotels and eligible charges qualify, and some IHG properties have opted out. IHG provides a list of exclusions with the offer details.

Only room nights within the offer period count. A stay completed before a member registers does not qualify, and nights before October 29, 2026, or after January 31, 2027, are outside the earning window. Members should allow up to six weeks after a qualifying stay for miles to appear in their designated Emirates Skywards account.

Several practical booking rules affect how stays are counted. Consecutive nights at the same hotel split across multiple checkouts count as one stay. Non-consecutive qualifying nights at the same property may count as separate stays. When two or more eligible members share a room, miles go only to the account of the person who booked it. A member booking multiple rooms for the same or overlapping dates earns the offer miles on only one booking, and only for qualifying nights.

Participating brands may include InterContinental, Regent, Kimpton, Hotel Indigo, HUALUXE, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Holiday Inn Club Vacations, Holiday Inn Resort, EVEN, voco, Vignette Collection, Atwell Suites, avid, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites, Six Senses, Ruby Hotels and Iberostar Beachfront Resorts. Participation varies by property. IHG notes that some Six Senses and Ruby hotels may not participate in the loyalty program or may not yet be fully integrated, so brand affiliation alone does not guarantee eligibility.

What members trade for the miles

IHG members must choose between earning partner miles and IHG One Rewards points on a stay. That makes the headline mileage rate only one part of the calculation. Members should weigh the Skywards miles they expect to receive against the value of IHG points and any separate points offers available for the same booking. The source article’s assessment is that collecting IHG points can be more rewarding, with the option to convert points to airline miles later if needed.

Rates, room types and availability vary by hotel and region; blackout dates may apply. Taxes, gratuities, resort fees, parking and incidental charges such as food and beverages are excluded unless the rate specifically includes them. Extra-person or rollaway-bed charges may apply, and unused rate components are non-refundable.

Full offer details are available on IHG’s offer page. For other IHG rate and bonus-point offers, see IHG One Rewards Rate & Bonus Points Offers.

For members considering a stay during the earning window, the immediate steps are to register by November 30, set Skywards as the earning preference before check-in, and confirm that the property and booking rate qualify. The choice between airline miles and IHG points will determine whether the doubled mileage rate is the better fit.
